Well, it seems like I’m in the mood, so here goes!

This is a little slice of one day in the life of an olive oil maker. At Sylverleaf, we use a very high quality, dark green imported Italian glass bottle. Typically, at this time of year, I call my sales rep and place my order for the year and the bottles arrive in about 12 weeks. Well, this year is a bit different. Our bottle is, essentially, no longer made…  No warning, no easy option.

So, now the fun begins. For the past 2 weeks, I have been contacting every bottle manufacturer in the US and in Europe to attempt to source their version of our bottle.  Still no luck.

We can make a switch to a screw-top bottle, which is readily available. So, what do you think? How do you feel about a screw-top on our olive oil?
